Hilda was once a peasant girl in the Val Moorian castle. Her mother was an attendant to Queen Malia and the two lived in the castle together. Hilda spent her early years sneaking into the Aldur’s chambers and telling him stories of the adventures she would have one day. She was never one for rules, and despite repeated beatings and punishments, she kept sneaking in to see the prince.

Soon the two became best friends, and despite the queen’s desire for Aldur to befriend noble girl’s his age, she grew rather fond of Aldur. The queen saw that Aldur might fall in love with Hilda one day, and decided Hilda would need to improve her station if Aldur was to have the desires of his heart. So she imposed on her royal guard to train Hilda, so that in the future she might go on a task to earn knight hood in the Arlum court.

When Grog Maste was given the little 8 year old, he was rather displeased. She was scrawny, underfed and smelled like dirt and grime. However, he soon learned of her fiery spirit and grew to see her as a sort of a daughter. At first, she was a terrible trainee. Most weapons were too large or heavy for her, and Grog grew thoughtful of how to encourage her along. One day he watched one the noble dancers twirling her metal baton and noticed how graceful and agile she was. I smile crossed his face as he realized the weapon Hilda might thrive with.

He bought a small rapier and brought it to practice the next day. She was beyond a natural. She took to the blade like a fish to water and was soon outpacing boys twice her age with her intense fighting spirit and nearly unregistered agility.

After that she naturally progressed, dueling nobles and earning fame in the area. It wasn’t long before she earned noble status and the queen agreed for Aldur and her to be married.
